I am a geologist and researcher specializing in palynology and stratigraphy, with broader research interests in sedimentology, paleoecology, palaeoclimatology, and petroleum geology. My research focuses on using palynological data to determine the age and stratigraphic relationships of sedimentary successions, reconstruct past environments and climates, and understand changes in depositional systems through time.
My research has particularly focused on the sedimentary basins of Sudan, where I investigate Cretaceous to Quaternary successions using palynological, stratigraphic, sedimentological, and paleoenvironmental approaches. I am also interested in the application of palynology to biostratigraphy and paleoenvironmental reconstruction, as well as the integration of paleontological and sedimentological evidence to better understand the geological history of sedimentary basins.
