I am a geologist and researcher specializing in palynology and stratigraphy, with broader research interests in sedimentology, palaeoecology, palaeoclimatology, and petroleum geology. I graduated from the University of Khartoum, where I also obtained my MSc in Palynology. I subsequently obtained my PhD in Palynology from Technische Universität Berlin, Germany.

I am currently a Professor in the Department of Petroleum Geology at Al Neelain University. My research focuses on the application of palynological data to determine the age and stratigraphic relationships of sedimentary successions, reconstruct past environments and climates, and understand changes in depositional systems through time.

My research has particularly focused on the sedimentary basins of Sudan, where I have investigated Cretaceous to Quaternary successions using integrated palynological, stratigraphic, sedimentological, and palaeoenvironmental approaches. I am also interested in the application of palynology to biostratigraphy and palaeoenvironmental reconstruction, as well as in integrating palaeontological and sedimentological evidence to better understand the geological history and evolution of sedimentary basins.
