I’ve always been fascinated by extinct organisms and the bizarre past life that existed on our planet. In my PhD project I investigated the systematic relationships and evolution of Cervidae (deer) using an integrative approach combining molecular and morphological data of living and fossil deer. My current research focuses on macro-evolutionary processes that led to the rich diversity of ruminants (cattle, antelopes, deer, etc.) we see today.
