Yikun Li

I completed my undergraduate education at Nanjing University, China, studying Stratigraphy and Paleontology since 2007. Trilobites, brachiopods, ammonites, and graptolites occupied most of my bachelor time, however, my academic career turned after a field trip to the Tibet Plateau. I applied for fieldwork to seek for Neogene mammals offered by the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 2011, I have been studying vertebrate paleontology, and aim to finish my doctoral dissertation on Chinese fossil gazelles in 2018. I am currently the recipient of a one-year DAAD-CAS scholarship and a visiting PhD student at the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin (2017-2018). My project here focuses on the interspecific variation in extant gazelles. My previous experience focused mainly on anatomy and taxonomy, and I would like to expand my interests to phylogeny and new methodologies, especially on fossil and living bovids.
